Broadcasts
Broadcasts let community admins and staff send targeted emails to property owners — without requiring owners to log in or create an account. Owners take action directly from the email via a secure, time-limited link.
Why Broadcasts?
Many property owners in wildfire-prone communities don’t want to adopt another app. Broadcasts meet them where they already are: their email inbox. Admins can reach every owner — even those who haven’t signed up for the platform.
Broadcast Types

How It Works
- Admin navigates to Broadcasts in the sidebar
- Clicks New Broadcast and selects a broadcast type
- Writes a subject line and message
- Selects the target audience (all owners, by subdivision, by project, etc.)
- Previews the audience count and confirms
- Emails are sent to each owner individually with personalized content
For action broadcasts, each email contains a unique magic link that lets the owner complete the task without logging in. Links expire after 72 hours and can only be used once.
Permissions
- Admin and Staff can create and send broadcasts
- Owners and Readonly users cannot access the broadcasts feature
What Owners See
Owners receive a branded email from Defensible Edge with:
- Their name and property address
- A clear description of what’s being asked
- A prominent action button (for action broadcasts)
- A link to view documents (for educational broadcasts)
After completing an action, owners see a confirmation page with an invitation to create a full platform account.
